* update: Alas, our Carol left us on May 5th at 6:20 am. There is a party celebrating her life to be held in her hometown of Seward, Alaska on June 21st. All of us on Dave's Garden who have been journeying & celebrating with Carol over these months will be with her family and friends in heart & spirit.
Per Carol's instructions they will process the last batch of her compost with a few of her ashes in it and each bag will be distributed to her gardening friends and will carry her special logo labels bearing its proper name, which we can't say on Dave's but can say here: Carol's KICK ASS Compost!
We love you Carol. ~ from all your friends at Dave's Garden.

Carol Eads lives and gardens in Seward Alaska which is on the coast of Resurrection Bay, 3 hours south of Anchorage. She is active on the site Dave's Garden where she has many very special friends who have enjoyed talking to her on the forums and have learned much from her on a variety of topics including, but by no means limited to:
Making her special blend of "KickAss" Compost, building compost bins, hyper-tufa, jellies and jams, bonsai, Stellar Sea Lions, (& their "Snausages"), chickens and collecting their eggs with stealth, dogs, horses, bears, alpines, Kid Rock, Carlos Santana, Eminem, Coldplay, salmon, pheasants, turkeys and other native birds, making rosaries with roses, woodworking, pruning, propagating, growing amazing flowers and vegetables and anything from seeds, Alaska living, wildlife and lore, hunting, fishing, books, pool & pinball, goats milk soap, and some random helpful trivia like you can't lick your elbow, and beyond ...
Carol has a zest for knowledge, a wide range of interests, passions and expertise. She has a sharp wit. She is humble, fun loving, kind of odd (we address her as Your Oddness) and has a panache for lively dialogue and debate. She is an avid reader. She owns (and memorizes) thousands of books and can discuss anything! Many of us have been hanging on her every word in the forums since she began the post called Carol's Journey which is now up to part 27. She's quick with a joke and a compliment, advice, tutorials and support. Even some of the children of the forum members can't wait to see what Carol says today or what pictures she'll send. They like seeing the moose, bears and birds, dogs and chickens or even arial views of her flooded town. Some call her a guru. Her friend Weezi in Seward calls her place Eadsville's Eden. We're grateful to Mama Shar, who has been the Rock of the Journey from the very beginning, and to Weezi for the pictures of Carol at the beginning of the thread and all the posts that helped us all get to know her a little better, 28 threads later.
Carol left a quote on one post: "Life isn't about what happens to us; it's about how we PERCEIVE what happens to us"
